Autumn/Winter 2011

This year’s Autumn/Winter period has seen me involved in a variety of different gigs.

Including an autumn wedding and a wedding anniversary, as well as teaming up with Garry Salvestro and Troy Fisher to perform at the Master Builders Association awards.

In April, I was once again involved in Wagga Wagga Takes 2 which is always a great show, and this year we raised $82000 for local charities.

I headed to Hillston in May with the rest of the cast and crew from the Hey Hey its Hillston Show to perform at Hillston’s annual Community Ball which was very well received.

And of cause I’ve also enjoyed my regular gigs at Wagga’s RSL and Commercial Clubs during the past few months.

Also my husband Bill and I have recently teamed up to form Wagga’s newest Live Music Duo called ‘Who’s the Boss’, performing live music for: Clubs, Pubs, Weddings, Corporate functions, Special events & Parties. Bill has been making cameo appearances at my solo gigs for some time now doing his classic rock stuff so we thought it was time we formed a duo which offers an alternative to my solo shows. More details can be found on the Who’s the Boss website: www.whostheboss.com.au.

I will also be involved in this year’s ‘Vegas on Show’ Christmas show at Wagga’s Capital Entertainment Centre in December. Tickets are now on sale through the Civic Theatre booking office. So get in early or miss out.

Finally, if you are interested in booking me or ‘Who’s the Boss’ or would like any information on my entertainment packages please don’t hesitate to contact me. Alternatively, I hope to see you at one of my upcoming Gigs.

Summer 2010/11

The last few months have been very busy with a variety of different events that I’ve performed at.

I’ve enjoyed doing a number of weddings including a ceremony and reception in Toowoomba QLD.

I also performed at a number of Christmas parties and Birthday parties during the festive season which was a whole lot of fun.

My December was very busy as part of the very popular Hey Hey it’s Christmas Show at Wagga’s Capital Entertainment Centre. We did 8 shows in all and it was great to have the opportunity to be in another show with my hubby Bill. We also put together a modified version of the Hey Hey show for Tumbafest in February which was very well received.

For a change of pace I teamed up with Garry Salvestro and Sameera Bashir to perform a few acoustic sets at this year’s first Jazz Junction Live in February. I also teamed up with Garry and my friend Cherie Medway to do a set at this year’s Relay for life where they raised a record $167000!

I’ve also enjoyed my regular gigs at Wagga’s RSL Club and Wagga’s new Shangri-la Piano Bar & Restaurant.

If you are interested in booking me or would like any information on my entertainment packages please don’t hesitate to contact me. Alternatively, I hope to see you at one of my upcoming Gigs.

Spring 2010

Where has the year gone? The second half of the year has certainly flown.

It’s been a busy few months as far as music goes with a variety of different gigs. I’ve enjoyed playing at quite a few recent weddings as well as teaming up with Troy Fisher as our duo called ‘Who’s the Boss’ to do a couple of gala Balls which were a heap of fun.

In August I performed at the opening of Myer Wagga’s new refurbished cosmetics area and in November the Grand opening of Wagga’s new Shangri-la Piano Bar & Restaurant.

I also performed at another charity event in October for Henry Pavitt. Little Henry has had a hard start to life, but it's never stopped him smiling. The two-year-old has a childhood heart disease and is fed through a tube through his stomach. His mum and dad want to take Henry to Austria for life-changing surgery, so that he can learn to eat properly. The event raised many thousands of dollars for Henry and as a result he will be heading Austria in the New Year.

Rehearsals are well and truly underway for this years Christmas show at Wagga’s Capital Entertainment Centre: ‘Hey Hey it’s Christmas’. A dinner show extravaganza with food, fun, music and laughs!  Featuring Rene Van Delft, Josh McKellar, Troy Fisher, Duncan (Pottsy) Potts and my husband Bill Robertson as ‘Plucker the chook’! And joining me in the band are Garry Salvestro, Rob Van Delft and Simeon Broadbent. This will be a VERY entertaining show. Booking through the Civic Theatre booking office.

If you are interested in booking me or would like any information on my entertainment packages please don’t hesitate to contact me. Alternatively, I hope to see you at one of my upcoming Gigs.

Pep Asante Fundraising Luncheon

Pep Asante and her 8 month old baby son own nothing but the clothes on their back after they lost every one of their belongings in a devastating house fire at Big Springs recently. More details here:

This fundraiser is being held to help Pep Asante and her son rebuild their lives after a log rolled out of their fireplace and onto the lounge room floor, causing a fast-paced blaze which engulfed the entire home.

Mrs Asante's husband is overseas in Ghana, and she was in the process of filling out documents to file for his Visa but now all of that is gone and she has to start the lengthy process again.

The Garden Court
Restaurant, where Mrs Asante is a casual employee, in conjunction with Kings Church is arranging this fundraising luncheon on Sunday August 8 from 12 noon to help the family back on their feet.

Bookings can be made by phoning
The Garden Court Restaurant Wagga on 6925 5660 at a cost of $30 per head and includes a 2 course meal and live entertainment featuring local entertainer Jamie Way and myself.

The total amount of money collected from the bookings will be donated to Mrs Asante.

April / May / June 2010

The last 3 months have seen me doing a variety of different gigs including Wagga Wagga Takes 2, where I was on the judging panel for the first time this year as well as opening the show with Grant Lhurs. The event was an overwhelming success raising an astonishing $109000 for local charities.

I also performed at another charity event in April to help celebrate the 5 year anniversary of the Ronald McDonald House Wagga Wagga (incorporating 93.1 Star FM Kids Kottage). It was also the 10 year anniversary of 93.1 Star FM's on-air team Pottsy & Leighton. The event was a whole lot of fun and we helped to raise a significant amount of money for Ronald McDonald House Wagga Wagga.

I have also been performing at quite a few weddings and private functions as well as my regular monthly Wagga RSL Club gigs.

I recently provided the entertainment at the Annual Riverina Bridal fair held at the Wagga RSL Club. It gave me an opportunity to show case my product which is ideally suited to wedding entertainment, an area that I specialise in.

If you are interested in booking me or would like any information on my entertainment packages please don’t hesitate to contact me. Alternatively, I hope to see you at one of my upcoming Gigs.

January / February / March 2010

It’s hard to believe that 3 months of 2010 are already gone!

It has been a very busy start to the year for me, with quite a lot of weddings in February and March as well as my regular RSL Club gigs.

The Countdown One Hit Wonders Show featured at February’s Tumberfest, and it was a whole lot of fun. The show preceded Ross Wilson and his band and the large crowd where really revved up after our show.

I also did a set with Garry Salvestro at this year’s ‘Relay for Life’ event in Wagga. It is a fantastic concept and this year the event raised over $105000! Which was even more special as my wonderful mother-in-law is a recent Cancer survivor.

On 22 & 23 April I’ll be forming part of the judging panel at this year’s Wagga Wagga Takes 2. This will be a fun-filled & entertaining night, with local community organisations to benefit through the fundraising efforts of the performers, celebrities and audience. More info here.

I hope to see you at Wagga Wagga Takes 2, or one of my upcoming Gigs.

December 2009

Thankyou to all for your support during 2009. It has been one of my busiest and most rewarding years for me musically. The highlight for me was the Christmas Countdown - ‘One Hit Wonders’ Show during November and December. Our cast and band were fantastic, and as an added bonus I finally got to do a show with my husband Bill.

Next year is also looking like a busy one with quite a few gigs already booked and a couple of BIG shows in the pipeline. I’ll post details as they are finalised.

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year and look forward to catching up in 2010 at one of my upcoming gigs.

September / October / November 2009

The last couple of months have just flown, particularly the last few weeks. I’ve spent the best part of October and November rehearsing for this year’s Christmas Countdown - ‘One Hit Wonders’ Show. Which is now up and running and has had a fantastic response? I’ve also managed to squeeze in a few RSL Gigs, as well as a couple of weddings!

The Christmas Countdown - ‘One Hit Wonders’ Show runs until Saturday 19th December, so if you haven’t already seen it come along and enjoy a great meal and great entertainment.

The show features Daryl Day, Rene Van Delft, Lauren Carlson, Duncan (Pottsy) Potts and my very own ‘Singing Roadie’ husband Bill Robertson. And joining me in the band are Garry Salvestro, Rob Van Delft and Simeon Broardbent.

Tickets including 3 course Dinner & Show are available from ‘The Civic Theatre Booking Office’ ... or by calling 6926 9688.

I hope to see you at the Christmas Countdown - ‘One Hit Wonders’ Show, or one of my upcoming Gigs.

July / August 2009

July and August were quite stressful as I got a bout of laryngitis. I had to finish off the last half of one of my RSL gigs with instrumental only because I couldn’t sing. Also The Magpies Net Restaurant’s Christmas in July dinner was a big success, but only because my friend Natasha Fitzsimmons stepped in with a few hours notice and did the vocals because I had no voice. She did and amazing job. Thanks Tash.

We have started planning for this year’s Christmas Countdown - ‘One Hit Wonders’ Show. This is the most exciting Dinner Show in Wagga will feature some of the biggest One Hit Wonders from the Countdown era:

“Come on Eileen”, “Centrefold”, “Bette Davis Eyes”, “Turning Japanese”, “Ring My Bell” and many many more.

The show will feature Daryl Day, Rene Van Delft, Lauren Carlson & Duncan (Pottsy) Potts. And I’ll be joined by Garry Salvestro, Rob Van Delft and Simeon Broardbent in the band.

Tickets including 3 course Dinner & Show are available from ‘The Civic Theatre Booking Office’ ... or by calling 6926 9688.

I hope to see you at one of my upcoming Gigs.

June 2009

June was a very busy month for a mother of young twins! With the Turn Back the Hands of Time show held at the Garden Court Restaurant and Function Centre, the Jazz Junction Live show, a couple of RSL Club Gigs and the Riverina Bridal Fair. Needless to say I am looking forward to a slightly quieter few weeks.

Don’t forget the Magpies Net Restaurant’s Christmas in July dinner on Saturday, 25th July. This evening can only be described as '5 star' featuring gourmet cuisine and outstanding service that is renowned with the Magpies Net Restaurant. Guests will be treated with champagne and beer on arrival before sitting down to an exquisite 3 course meal. As well as entertainment from yours truly!

Well Wagga Wagga Takes 2 was an overwhelming success, raising over $40,000 for local charities. Bill and I had a lot of fun and we actually won the judges choice award at the Thursday night show. But more importantly, we raised a few thousand dollars for our selected charity, The Wagga Wagga Base Hospital Auxiliary.

February 2009

Bill and I are teaming up as one of Wagga’s celebrity couples to perform in this year’s Wagga Wagga Takes 2 on 23 & 24 April, and we’d love you to be there on one of the two nights.

That’s right; Bill has accepted the challenge to join me to become the event’s very first husband and wife team!

This will be an absolute laugh. ‘Wagga Wagga Takes 2’ teams together 12 of Wagga Wagga’s best local entertainers with 12 well known local identities to provide 2 nights of great entertainment.

Doors open at 6.30pm for pre-dinner drinks with the audience being able to bring along their own cheese/nibbles etc on the night. The show will commence at 8.30pm with an interval of 20-30 minutes.

The 12 performing couples will be representing a local charity on the night and perform a song each to raise money for the charity. On each night, the audience will vote for each performance by donating money to the respective charity. We will be representing the Wagga Wagga Base Hospital Axillary who is responsible for raising funds to purchase equipment & other items for the benefit of patients at Wagga Base Hospital. A great cause!

A judging panel will also provide scores and comments for each act. Trophies will be presented to the most successful fund raising team as well as the highest scoring couple on each night.

This will be a fun-filled & entertaining night, with local community organisations to benefit through the fundraising efforts of the performers, celebrities and audience.

We have a full live band, backup singers and dancers all at our disposal to be used as part of our routine.

Limited tickets are now on sale through the Wagga Civic Theatre Booking office, so get in quick.

January 2009

It’s hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone and we are already well into 2009.

This year has started well for me, and it’s good to be back doing regular public and private gigs.

One very unique element that can be included in my shows is the Stashway Foldable Piano Body, and I’ve had lots of recent interest in the product. My Stashway is a portable stand for my keyboard that looks like a grand piano. It folds up into a neat unit, which can be easily transported to my shows. It gives a very classy look to the occasion. If you’d like to check it out, I will be performing with my Stashway in an exclusive Valentines Day show at the Wagga RSL club from 7:00pm on Saturday 14 February. I’d love to see you there.

December 2008

This years Christmas Countdown shows were an outstanding success and I have enjoyed the whole experience immensely. I have enjoyed working with a great team of professionals and look forward to working with many of you again in the New Year.

The end of the Christmas Countdown shows marks the end of the busiest year in my life, with the highlight being the arrival of our beautiful twins Grace & William. I am now looking forward to taking a breath with a quieter couple of months and enjoying some family time with Bill and our kids.

I’d like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe holiday period and hope to see you at a gig or show sometime in 2009.

November 2008

Well our show A Night to Remember was an overwhelming success. Both nights were sold out and Bill and I are amazed at the positive responses from all who shared in the experience. Some photos from the show can be found here.

Thank you once again to the cast and crew and the Wagga Wagga Christian College for your friendship and professionalism. It was certainly a career highlight for me.

I haven’t really had time to stop and reflect as it was straight into final rehearsals for this year’s Christmas Countdown – The Foreign Invasion show, which is now playing at the Capital Entertainment Centre until Christmas. So, as Molly Meldrum would say “do yourself a favour” and catch this show. It is very entertaining and is sure to be a great night out. Bookings can be made through the Civic theatre booking office.

I hope to see you there.

October 2008

Bill and I have been extremely busy putting the finishing touches on A Night to Remember and we are very proud of how the show has come together. So if you haven’t already got your tickets, now is the time!

I have started rehearsing for this year’s Christmas Countdown – The Foreign Invasion show.  That's right, it's time to pull out the leg warmers, polish up the platforms and pump out the hair gel.

Perfect for your next workplace Christmas party, the 2008 'Christmas Countdown - The Foreign Invasion' will feature the international hits of the 70's and 80's. Joining me on stage will be Garry Salvestro, Patrick Almanci, Phoebe Luhrs, Rene Van Delft and many more. The show includes a 3-course dinner. Bookings can be made through the Civic theatre booking office.

I hope to see you soon at one of my upcoming shows.

September 2008

After months of writing and planning, rehearsals are now well underway for my new show 'A Night to Remember'. The show will run for two nights only at our kid's school, the Wagga Wagga Christian College, on Friday 31 October & Saturday 01 November.

Bill, with the support of the Wagga Wagga Christian College, has done a fantastic job putting the show together. The show’s official title, ‘A Night to Remember with Michelle Robertson’ is a concert-like experience featuring lighting, video footage and inspirational music all while maintaining a message of faith and hope.

This quality production will feature many of my own songs, as well as performances of songs from popular Christian Contemporary and Pop artists such as Michael W. Smith, Delta Goodram, Missy Higgins, Amy Grant, Bethany Dillon, Leann Rimes and many more….

The centrepiece of the show is my dazzling Stashway baby grand piano, where I’ll share the personal experiences behind my lyrics, introduce our brilliant feature performers and perform a variety of songs.

The show also features my friend Natasha Fitzsimmons and an ensemble of the Wagga Wagga Christian College's students who will amaze with their exceptional vocal and musical talents.

We are all very proud to present this unique and outstanding event which is sure to be A Night to Remember!

Tickets available from: Wagga Wagga Christian College. Phone: (02) 6923 8888. So get in early!

August 2008

Bill and I have been very busy organising all of the behind the scenes aspects of our new show to be performed at the Wagga Christian Collage later this year. I’ll post more details on the site soon. It will be a significant and very professional production and has everyone involved very excited.

Watch this space.

July 2008

After a short break away from performing, for the birth of our beautiful twins Grace and William, I am now looking forward to returning with new equipment, new material and renewed enthusiasm.

I hope to see you soon at one of my upcoming gigs.
